I walked forever it seemed following tracks all over the island. But every time we bumped them they seemed to disappear and never give me a chance to even see them. This deer made the mistake to hesitate. The kill was quick. He was there then he was dead. It was getting him the 3 miles of shoreline back to the truck was the interesting part. We ended up getting a one man canoe and paddling and wadding him back to the trucks. I shot a 12pm and didn’t get back to the trucks with him until 5pm. What a unforgettable hunt.  7pts. 172 lbs and biggest deer to date!!
