This harvest was my first and so far only deer that I have been able to harvest over my time hunting. I got it out in Swanville on youth day, which was pretty darn busy at the time considering we heard about 3 other shots around us. We had been sitting for roughly three hours on a area a hill where one of Maines many windstorms had ravaged so we had good sightlines into the clearing below. Around 9:00 or so I had just put my phone away when this young 6 point buck quite literally walked right up onto us maybe within 20ft I tapped my hunting partner on the shoulder and pointed out the buck. I remember the older Maine guide turn to me and just yell “SHOOT IT!” 
with that friendly suggestion I jumped onto my feet and shouldered my .243.
This buck in the space of 3 seconds had bounded away a good 40 yards before i was able to get a bead on it. With a semi broadside shot in my cross hairs I sent up a prayer and squeezed the trigger. All I remember is the loud bang of the rifle and looking at the deer continuing to bounce away, looking unfazed. After about maybe 10 more yards of running the buck dropped to the forest floor. After about 3 minutes of searching my hunting partner found it and I had penetrated right through its side into its lunges, which was a good feeling knowing that it was a clean kill. even though I was in 8th grade at the time the memory still holds clear as day in my mind and I still brag about it to this day
