we open my father and I sitting in the woods line on the edge of a field on a sunny mid morning tired and hot we sat half asleep my dad calling with no answer for an hour or two then finally we heard a small flock of tom turkeys my father sat up and started calling as the turkeys drew closer we saw  two jakes and a tom and as they drew closer I shot at the tom and dropped him where he stood and as we walked closer to the bird it got up and bolted for the woods so I ran after him with one shell left in my shotgun the turkey ran into a clearing and I shot him
