The boys and I were just taking about  patterns of deer movement from year to year.   They are very similar and we keep getting better at recognizing it.

Got a nice little spike horn down on the back 40… shot from almost the same spot as last year and he was standing about 10yds from where I shot my doe last year. Wind was the same, very similar day… funny how the really do seem to move in patterns with the weather.

Such a rewarding feeling of accomplishment harvesting my first deer... It truly was... I really felt grateful to be to do so, especially taking my first one on our families land. Land I grew up on. Land I know... And that’s why I was able to get the shot I did I feel. Because I know the land. I knew where they were moving. I took my time and used the wind to my advantage. I had spent a lot of time in those woods in the past, but especially this year and it payed off. Felt good to put that meat on the table and Jennifer say how good it was 

A hunt is always so much nicer with gran daddies gun. Very cool. 

Out Friday afternoon before deer season opening Saturday. Weekend up north with Brian or our annual first weekend of deer season up at his uncle Mark’s camp. Went 2 for 2 that day, my first time hunting with Grandpa’s 20ga that Mum gave me for Christmas that year before (2019). Good day out in the “Stormtrooper” with ole Brian.
