I shot this buck on the last day 40 minutes before dark at my best friend Brody Gibbs’s house. It was the first year Brody owned this land after he bought it from his grandfather and I honestly hadn’t planned on hunting there that afternoon. Brody had taken our buddy Avery and his little cousin Wyatt and me around a few spots earlier that day looking for any action and Wyatt actually got a shot off at a doe but missed. It ended up being too late for me to head to Troy to hunt my own grandfathers land so I stayed and hunted a new stand Brody had just put up this year. I’m lucky this is the way it worked out. I’ll never forget the blood trail from this deer, with two inches of snow on the ground it made tracking quite easy.
