I was in the stand with my friend Mickey and we had just seen a 2 deer in front of us, running. I was scanning the edge of the field when I heard something to our left. After a second I realized i had just heard a deer cough. As I tired my head the deer bolted down the side of the field. I stood up and Mickey and I watched the deer in the scope. As it reached the end of the field, it stopped just for a moment. Mickey and I shot within half a second of each other. Since he shot first I told him it was his if we both hit it. Mickey aimed for the neck and I aimed for the boiler room. After following a large blood trail for roughly 100-150 yards we came across a crotch horn buck that weighed about 140lb. Mickey had missed and I had a nice shot through both lungs, no meat wasted.
