Nice way to end it.   The more stories one collects makes for a better hunting season

Arrived at camp around 1215 trying to decide what time to hit the woods.  I decided to get ready and get out early so I started my sit around 1240.

For the past several weeks we've had a button buck coming out into the field to feed.  Out rule at camp was not to touch the little guy so, we all just sit and watch him for hours while he ate.  That's what happend this evening.  He arrived around 1450 and ate for over a hour.  I was hoping that other deer would see him and come out feeling safe that he was there.  That never happened.

  He finally had enough and left the field 1605.  Only about 20ish min left in the hunt I prayed that a couple of deer hit the field because I wanted to end this year tonight..  Low and behold 5 min later 2 doe walk out on the field.  I looked at my watch too see how much time I had left...15 min was plenty of time.  I settled in keeping my sights on the larger one of the two waiting for the perfect shot.  She finally turned the right way and I squeezed off the round.  She dropped where she stood.  

Sigh of relief...I got my wish for the season to be over.  Excellent year for me so far.  Harvested my bear, 8 point buck and now my bonus doe.  Filling the freezer little by little.
