Opening day and only took 20 minutes to harvest this boy. May not be a huge trophy but it’s my trophy.  672lbs and a rack measuring 37 inches wide.

Got out of the truck at legal shoot time, loaded the rifle and started calling while walking down the road.  Heard some crashes in the woods so stopped to listed.  Got the call going more for a few minutes then stopped, listened but didn’t hear anything.  Continued to walk while calling and next thing you know a bull pops out about 150yrds down the road.  Lifted the rifle to see and target but he took off.

Started calling again for a few more minutes and heard crashing to my left.  Stopped and backed up against the wood line threw off my hat, listened more and waited.  Next thing you see is a head peaking through the high brush 10 yards away.  (Around a table of story telling hunters that distance would be about 300 yards.  Hahahahahah) Rifle up in place already, laid my sight on him and pulled the trigger.  Dropped where he stood.  

Quickest hunt I’ve ever had and very exciting.  For me it rates ALMOST as exciting as bear hunting.
