Went on a guided bear hunt on youth day. My guide was Travis, from Silver Ridge Outfitters. Sat in a stand with my dad, wasn't even dark and this bear comes out. I was using my mom's 308 Browning semi auto. The bear came in and climbed up a tree fast, so crazy how they shimmy up so quickly, he came back down and headed towards the barrell. I blasted him! He ran a little bit and let out the death groan. It happened so fast, my dad thought I was going to have a scope mark on my fore head because I had my left arm not really secure on the gun because so I basically shot it one handed because I didn't want him to see me move. 
The following week we went to pick up the meat from the butcher, we got there and they gave us a box. We filled the cooler we brought and my parents said there's no way this is your beat the cooler was full and we still have more meat to add. All the packages said hot, mild, onion garlic all sausage, we ordered no sausage. Brought it back in and we figured out he gave my meat to another guy that hunted through the same guide my bear. I had this 300 plus lb bear and that guy had my 100lber. So after hours of phone calls and getting lost in the woods because the GPS doesn't know all these dirt roads I ended up with my meat and he was happy he got all he payed for. Mine is so tender and juciy. This is my 3rd black bear. I got my turkey this year, now my bear. My dad and I got our moose permit, so if I get this moose and my deer I can get my grand slam at 10 years old. This is my goal for this year! I love to hunt so much
