COMPLETED MY GRAND SLAM FOR 2022- Dad got drawn for a zone 6 cow permit- I was the subpermittee and he said he would let me shoot first. 
So 3rd week of October, we headed to camp for a week hunt. We got a guide through Dudley Brook Guide Service- they are amazing! 
We woke up at 4:45 headed out, rode sun up to sun down- saw a couple cows 10 mins into daylight- too far of a shot, tried getting closer but hey bolted. We saw a bull, stood right broadside- saw another bull..see another cow-took off quickly. Day 2, daylight broke we took a right turn- truck behind us took a left, we heard a bang! Well they left with no moose(no clue if they missed or what). It was real foggy and we see a moose clear across a huge cut- a bull of course. Leaving the roads we see a cow that had been harvested and was getting gutted. Went home empty handed. 
Day 3- lots of naps later- rain- fog wRm Temps about 69°. Around 3ish, Dad said back up, there's a moose- (mum woke me up from my nap) saying get ready there's a moose. A huge cow! Got out, bang, bang. She turned and headed towards us, mum said she saw a big hole in the side of her. She went into the woods, on a mission. We started tracking, no blood- but we were following foot prints. About 2 inches in the wet ground- came upon a pile of blood- the guide went back to the truck to grab some markers for our tracking. 15 mins pass, we continue- wasn't looking good. Found some more blood- a bug pile of her fresh poop. She took a wild turn- here it is raining buckets- we come to a stop and found some more blood- we discuss that we think we're jumping her. We stop for about 5 mins and up ahead in the brush- in a old skidded trail, we see a brown spot. Mum looked trough the scope and she said it's her, I see her ear. Dad looked and finally we identified it was her. Bang- no sense for her to suffer. She was about to drop..she sat there staring at us the whole time. She was a beast! We were a ways in the woods, the guide called his son to bring a atv to get this baby out. Finally around 6:30ish we got her out of the woods. All day we had the skng"sweet Caroline- bump bump bump" so I named my moose Caroline 😃.  This completed my 2022 Grand Slam! I am just 10 years old and this is the best accomplishment I've completed. I'm so happy, and thankful for this. Thanks for my guides Travis from Silverridge on putting me on a bear, Mark from Dudley Brook Guide for putting us on moose and my dad for being my hunting buddy through it all. For giving me the opportunity to get my grand slam, he didn't have to give me his moose. He's been waiting for years to get drawn. So thankful for this season. Now I can get a doe!
