This deer was shot in Belfast many moons ago on Thanksgiving morning 1992. The typical rack had one side that was completely broken. He would have been an 8 point but with the broken rack he was only a 6. I had found a fresh scrape line late in the season along a stream on the property where my house is now. I made the decision to hunt in my blind along the old tote road near the stream. On that morning there was light rain and no wind. I set a swab up in a tree with doe scent and planned to sit in the blind and use the doe bleat a few times. About an hour after I got there a buck stepped into the tote road and came right to the swab. I pulled up the .357 and he literally dropped in his tracks. He dropped so hard that one of his ankles snapped, pretty crazy. To my surprise his whole left antler was broken with only 4 inches of visible bone left. Still a nice deer and a good day in the Maine woods.
