This is my first ever Maine Black Bear, and 360lbs 😳 My dad and I have always had a strong bond when hunting. I moved back home during baiting weeks so i made it just in time! I sat in a double tree stand (very unstable 🙈) for over 5 hours. With about 30 minutes left of shoot time, i started getting discouraged since I had not seen one bear all afternoon. With 7 minutes of shoot time left, my dad told me to sit super still. I look to my left to see a huge bear quietly appear out of the brush and head for the bait bucket. My heart started to race and it was the first time ive ever seen a bear that close, alive. I got my 30-06 ready and put my scope on the bear. As he approached the bucket, he took a mouth full of bait and began to walk off. In the moment my Dad told me to shoot as he was walking away. I put the sights on the bear and had to tell myself to just breathe. I took one last big breathe and pulled the trigger! I hit the bear perfect and it didnt even run. As we watched the bear fall and experience the death moan, I couldnt believe what i just did. I shot my first bear, and to think we dont even have to track it! It was one of the most adrenaline rushed moments ive ever had in my life. I cant thank my Dad enough for showing me the ways of hunting and taking me with him to have that same joy he experiences when the shot is fired on a big game trophy! If you've never been bear hunting, I highly recommend it! It will for sure be a story you will never forget!
Congratulations and welcome to Gametiks. That’s a great bear
