Mom got a cow permit for zone 5. We went up to my grandparents camp to stay. I was the sub permitte on mums permit. We headed our Monday morning and was sitting at the end of a road waiting for daylight. Someone pulled up behind us and sat. We wanted the 1st clearing they wanted the second. Daylight hit, we walked up over a ridge, lots of sign. Headed down the road went in a ways and headed back out. Bang bang bang 13 shots layer- I think the other people must of got something. 
Well that day past no moose sighted. Day 2, we headed out with diff plan. The moose woukd be coming down off the ridge and crossing, we turned around and headed back to mile 5...it was a bitter cold frosty morning. In the ditch and going up the road was wet tracks where a moose freshly crossed. Got out and followed the tracks, the wind was blowing right at the direction of them. They must of smelled us because they circled down around and up ahead was crossing the road. Mom and I were locked and loaded, cow and cow were crossing. 3 steps they were across, I pulled up and I couldn't get a steady shot and bang..Mom shot. We were running up the where they were and Mom said Alex take the kill shot! She was out of breathe behind me a ways her and my grandfather. Me and Matthew went up and there she was laying right off the edge of the ditch, blood squirting like a fountain. Went up and sure enough she was done. It was so awesome! Another moose hunt for me. One I will never forget with my family.
