It’s amazing how many people think I didn’t get a deer. Well here it is a 160 pound 6 pointer. Before Operation ReBoot OutDoors about 3 or  4 years ago, I never thought I would be doing anything outdoors again. It all started with getting to go on a bear hunt with reboot 3 or 4 years ago. That’s when things started to change in my life. When I first started hunting again, Daniel Waite literally would have to carry me on his shoulder to and from the blind and literally drag and gut and do all the work for me so I could harvest that animal. Never in a million years would I think I would be hunting by myself or doing anything myself when it came to hunting. Over those 3 or 4 years Dan Waite, Abraham J Bradeen, Mya, Russ and many other reboot volunteers showed me and taught me how to become a better outdoorsman when it comes to hunting deer, moose, bear, and turkey. Fast forward to now that I’m healed from my surgery in 2020. I have been hitting the woods hard this year by myself. Well yesterday I was driving back from my appointment and was heading to go out hunting. Well I saw this buck cross the road in front of me. I knew where that buck was heading. So I drove to the area and got my vest and hat on and grabbed my rifle and walked a little ways and I looked up and there he was. Around 12:30 pm I shot this nice buck and it didn’t even go 30 yards. This year I did everything myself from dragging the deer to loading it in my truck and even gutting it. Thank you Mya for coming to make sure I gutted the deer the proper way. Dragging Deer is a lot of work and especially trying to get it in you’re truck by yourself.  Wow this brings a lot of tears to the eyes because far I have come in just 3 or 4 years is beyond amazing. The therapeutic power that nature offers is beyond amazing and some of the best medicine out there.

As a little kid my dream has always been to catch a Gator. I used to always watch gator shows. Never did I think it would become a reality but it did. Yesterday I had the honor to be able to go to Gator Raiderz farm. Their generosity to use one of their tags on me. That to me says a lot about them because they could have easily made money off of it but instead they thought about me and offered and donated one of their tags, not a lot of people would do that. I’m beyond honored and I can’t thank you enough Gator Raiderz. I didn’t know what to expect when fighting a gator. How hard the gators fight from dead weight due to them grabbing stuff on the bottom to rolling around or swimming and pulling for their life. The fight was unbelievable because the best way to describe the way they fight is it reminded me how far I have come from the dark places I used to be in. From not giving up and fighting for my life to get where I am now. I truly want to thank Kelly Andersen, Mike Reynolds and all of Gator Raiderz from the bottom of my heart. You all gave me what we call a Reboot of a lifetime. Any time someone wants to go on a gator hunt. I will be sending them your way. Since you allowed me this opportunity, we learned how to handle the situation for other amputees or people in a wheelchair going on Gator hunt. It also shows a lot of people that you can do anything possible no matter what situation you are in you can do it even if it’s a physical problems. I got to catch 4 gators, a 9ft and 1inch, 8ft 3 inches, 8ft, and a 7ft. I’m the kindness of their heart they let me keep the 7 foot gator. I’m truly grateful for that

Sorry it took so long to post this, like I said I was speechless and in shock. This is by far the hardest post I have made because I'm overwhelmed by emotions just thinking about all the hunts. I haven't had this many tears in my eyes, happy tears. I'm truly lost for words, I'm completely speechless and still in shock. It doesn't even feel real to me, it feels like a dream to me.  On September 20th, Turkey Down. That's when I started going for my ReBoot Grand Slam. September 28th, 2021 at 1:23 bull moose down.(860 pounds, 44 inch spread) October 7th, 2021 at 6:20 am Buck down(126 pounds, 6 pointer) October 16th, 2021 at 7:45am, Bear down. That was when I completed my grand slam, A ReBoot Grand Slam!!! People go their whole life trying to get drawn for a moose tag. I got lucky 8 days before zone 1 moose hunt, I got a Moose tag donated to me. I can not thank Rob Oso enough for choosing me to give the tag to. Very Few can say they got an opportunity to go for their grand slam and achieve it but I can say with honor, pride, and with the most excitement possible I got the Maine Grand slam. What made this achievement even more exciting is everyone that was with me on each hunt, I couldn’t have asked for better people. Plus I completed my Reboot grand Slam in 27 days. I literally can not stop getting tears in my eyes. Never in a million years would I ever think I would ever hunt again, let alone walk again. As many of you know when I first started going to Operation ReBoot OutDoors, I could barely get around and could hardly do anything. That didn't stop Dan or anyone at Reboot from getting me in the woods to be able to hunt and show me that there is more to life and that I can still do everything. Once I got my prosthetics, the next day, I was walking without any help, it wasn't far but I was told that I will walk when I tell myself I will walk. That stuck with me. From that day on I kept pushing myself each day. During all my hunts in 2021, I could not be more proud to be able to say each day I never gave up, never quit but I kept pushing forward. I can not stress the amount of miles I walked in rough terrain each day of every hunt no matter how much pain I was in. I wouldn't say anything during the hunts but each night I was in a lot of pain but that never stopped me. To me failure wasn't a choice and it still isn't. I wanted to prove to myself and everyone else that no matter the situation if you put your mind to it you can achieve it. In my eyes the real heroes are Daniel Waite, Abraham J Bradeen, Russ, Mya, Nicole Waite, Virginia P. Parker, Zachary Burgess, Jesse, Jeffery Patneaude, and  Rob Oso and all of Operation ReBoot Outdoors for everything you all have done for me and everyone else. If it wasn't for all of Operation Reboot Outdoors none of this would have been possible. I can not stress this enough: ReBoot literally saved my life, if it wasn't for reboot I would have been one of the 22 a day. This is why life is worth living!!! I couldn't have asked for better people to be with me on each hunt this year. I have been asked a lot about what i'm going to do now that all my tags are filled and i'm done hunting for the year. Well let me tell you, I still plan helping Operation ReBoot Outdoors give each veteran, LEOs, and active duty service member a ReBoot of a lifetime by giving them the best experience there is so they can feel what I felt when I first came to ReBoot. So they can truly say they got a Reboot of a lifetime. Thank you all of Operation ReBoot Outdoors for never giving up on me or any other person and literally saving my life!!!

October 16th at 7:45 am, bear down!!!! This was the last Maine Big game animal I needed to complete my Grand slam!!! When I first came to Operation ReBoot OutDoors it was for a bear hunt but little did I know it would change my life for the better. My first bear hunt with ReBoot. Dan would literally pick me up and put me in his truck and carry me in and out of the woods on his shoulder. No one hesitated to help me get around and make sure I got to hunt. I didn’t see a bear that year but I found my purpose in life. Which lit a fire inside me to keep fighting and to keep digging to get out of the darkness I was in. Last year I tried again to get a bear. Well I did see one but missed, which was my fault. I thought it would be a good idea to drink and try bear fat, worst idea ever. Ended up puking non stop for like a week straight. After Dan found out he told me I would never be allowed to bear hunt with Reboot again. After stepping up Reboot surprised me and chose me to trap a bear this year. Daniel Waite, Russ, Mya, and Jeffery Patneaude never gave up on me in the three years of trying to help me get a bear. They all wanted to see me be successful no matter what. This year trapping I learned bears are not stupid animals. I respect them even more. What made this bear season even more special was being able to walk into each site and help bait them and carry bait to each site. Being able to walk into the site each day and check my trap and set it. I won’t lie each night was like having a heart attack watching the bears on my cellular trail cam and watching them set my trap off without getting caught. But no matter what everyone never gave up and helped me stay positive. Philip Milligan the Reboot butcher even stepped up and wanted to see me get my grand slam. He made a phone call to Zachary Burgess and asked him if he would run his hounds to help better my odds of getting a bear. Zack didn’t even know me and didn’t even hesitate when he said yes. Phil called me and told me and I couldn’t be more happier. I ended up calling Zack and we made plans to hound hunt with him and run his hounds yesterday October 16th, 2021. Zack released his hounds, the bear went up the tree 168 yards from the truck. Being able to walk into the woods in rough terrain was an amazing experience, never in a million years would I think I would be able to walk into the woods the way I been. Never been hound hunting for a bear. Once I got to the bear and shot, I felt overwhelmed of emotions to the point I felt like puking. Words couldn’t explain how happy I was. What an amazing experience. Hearing the hounds work and tree the bear was beyond amazing. I would like to thank Dan, Jeff Butterfield and Jeff butterfield for being there and helping and Zack and his hounds for making this possible. Writing this and just thinking about the hunt brings tears to my eyes and a big smile to my face every time. Made new friends and memories of a life time. I would like to thank all of Reboot and everyone there on this bear hunt, if it wasn’t for all of you non of this would of been possible.

The reason it takes me so long to write a post is because I don’t want to rush it or over think it. I want my post to naturally come to me so I can truly say I’m speaking from the heart. Every time I write one of these post tears are always running down my face. Yesterday which was Thursday, October 7th 2021 legal shooting time was 6:11am. At 6:20 am, buck down. 126 pound 6 pointer. 9 minute hunt couldn’t of gone any better. Russ, Mya, and I couldn’t believe how everything went down. Memories of a life time. So much has changed since getting my last deer 2 seasons ago but what made this years hunt even more special was being able to walk. Being able to experience walking into the hunting spot, setting up and everything about the hunt but  having Mya and Russ there to experience it with me was what made it even more meaningful and more emotional. This hunt will always hold a special place in my heart. They have taught me a lot and always willing to go above and beyond for me and other veterans, LEOs and Active duty service members. I want to tell everyone a little bit about my story. When I first got back to Maine, I was looking around to find a church to go to. Well the church I choose, Russ and Tanya Noyes went to. Before they even really knew me, they could tell I was struggling. Once I kinda started not making appearance to church. My pastor at the time reach out to me on Facebook. He asked me if I was a veteran, I said yes. He told me someone will be reaching out to me. little did I know Daniel Waite founder of Operation ReBoot OutDoors personally called me to check up on me. I can’t thank Russ and Tanya enough for what they did for me before they even knew me. I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it. It’s very emotional for me because it means so much for me. I haven’t told to many people about how Reboot found me but I think it time. I started to watch the Reboot page, last minute I saw they where taken names and putting them in a bag to draw them to see who gets a bear hunt. Well little did I know, my name got picked. This is so hard for me to write. It’s amazing how things work out. When I got my name picked it gave me something to look forward to because I knew I didn’t have much more fight in me to keep going. From the moment I pulled into Reboot on my first bear hunt, my whole life changed for the better. I really got to know Dan, Nicole Waite, Russ, Mya, and Abraham J Bradeen and there families and everyone part of Reboot. Ever since that day everyone part of Reboot and there family treated me like family. Before I knew it, They became family to me. They never judged me, held anything against me and always was willing to help me. All of Reboot wanted to make sure I had an amazing experience during bear season 2 years ago. All of Reboot went above and beyond. All of Reboot will always hold a special place in my heart.

I got home late last night, I have been out of service. Sorry about all the grammar and spelling mistakes. I haven’t thanked anyone publicly yet. I wanted to wait till the hunt was over. At 1:23pm Tuesday September 28th 2021, Bull moose down. 860 pounds and 44” spread. This is doesn’t seem real. Trying to write this and find the correct words wasn’t easy, let alone keep tears out of my eyes. I want to first thank Rob Oso for donating the Moose tag to me. Words can’t describe how thankful and grateful I am for you giving me this moose tag. You giving me this tag gave me the Reboot of a life time. I will make sure you get some moose meat. I want to thank all of Operation ReBoot OutDoors. I want to personally thank Daniel Waite, Jesse, Abraham J Bradeen, and Virginia P. Parker for stepping up big time and taken this hunt on last minute. I can’t thank you all enough for all the sacrifices you all made to make this happen.  Over 2 years ago before Reboot, I was in an extremely dark place with no purpose to keep going. To the point that if Operation Reboot Outdoors never found me, I could truly say I would of been one of the 22. From the moment I pulled into Reboot for my first bear hunt, I truly felt like family. No one gave up on me or judged me. They all helped me leaving my struggles behind. They all helped me find life and a purpose. I learned that the brother/sister hood was still there outside the military. What made this hunt beyond special was during bear and deer season 2 years ago, Dan would literally pick me up and put me in his truck and carry me over 200 yards on his shoulder into the woods so I could hunt. He wouldn’t even think twice. Sorry I’m tearing up writing this. Being able to go on this hunt was a roller coaster of great emotions for me.  Being able to WALK miles in the woods with no help each day was just one of the high lights. This hunt was more then just a hunt because since being able to walk again, I truly was able to Experience every aspect of the hunt. I can not thank operation reboot outdoors enough for everything they have done every me and every Veteran, Active Service members and LEOs out there. I’m beyond proud to be able to stand along side with all of Reboot nation and help lower the 22 a day. Please in the comments Thank all of operation Reboot outdoors for what they do so they can feel the love. Specifically thank Rob for choosing me to give the moose tag because of him I got a Reboot of a life time. I been reading all the comments and post on Facebook about my moose hunt bring tears of joy to my eyes.

I would like to say thank you to Paul Chabot for letting us hunt out of his hunting stand. He’s an awesome guy and a great friend and would like to say thank you to Daniel Waite for taking the time and working with me to get me 2 turkeys. I would also say thank you to Bear Proof Outdoors, L.L. Cote, Ravin Crossbows, and #ReBootNation for providing awesome gear. I got 2 birds back to back. One at 30 yards and one at 55 yard

This is a day late but yesterday November 6 at 6:21 am I heard a splash in the water. I sat there and a doe was running from left to right, right down the path dan said they would, then ran up and away. Not even 2 minutes later the doe came back, right in front of me, about 30 yards. I had a stare off for about 20 minutes where I couldn’t move, then when she turned to the right and Broadside, I let her have the smack down. She jumped and ran to the right and cut up always about 40 yards. I thought I missed because all I could see was my arrow sticking in the ground. I called dan and I was beating myself up. Dan went and looked at the arrow and blood all over it. Through and through that bolt went in the deer and out the other side. Double lung shot. We tracked her and the blood just got worse and worse and me found the doe about 40 yards away. The doe was about 130 not gutted then gutted she was 104 pounds. A very nice doe. I wanted to even wrap the rope around the deer and then around my waist and try to dragged it out but dan thought it was a better idea for him to drag her out, which I agreed it was. This is the hard part just writing this makes tears come to my eyes. Dan and all of reboot gave it 150 percent on setting me on a deer. To me the deer was just a bonus. I just enjoyed being out in the woods again. I was a challenge for Dan, he didn’t think he could put me on a deer. He never gave up helping me out in the woods day in and out. He adapted and over came the challenge. When I got out of the military I lost that feeling of the brother hood and felt lost in the world, struggling with mental and physical health problems. In and out of the hospital and I’m still struggling with everything. It all started when I got draws for a bear hunt for operation reboot. I found a purpose In life and found that feeling of the brother hood again. I have made so many friends that will be life long friends. I put 110 percent into helping Reboot any way I can, even behind the Scenes. I’m not doing this for Recognize, I’m doing because it an amazing feeling seeing and helping other Veteran out Hunting and fishing again and see there smile on there face when they tag an animal. I truly am speechless and no words can describe how much operation reboot has helped me. This is the best organization in the world. I haven’t been out hunting since I got back in Maine in 2016. People don’t see it but all the guys and girls give it there all to set each thing up and adapted and over come the challenge and never give up. I can’t thank all of reboot enough for this amazing opportunity. I want to again thank all of reboot again. Also Jake for giving me his doe tag this year, which let me harvest this amazing doe. See the look on dans face says it all and how emotional he was and I was and how proud he was. That’s the reason all of reboot gives it there all no matter what.
